Romania’s Simona Halep and Spain’s Garbine Muguruza have reached the women’s singles category final of the Cincinnati Open Tennis Tournament here.
Halep beat America’s Sloane Stephens 6-2, 6-1 to make it to the title match. Halep made it to the semifinals for the third consecutive time in this tournament.
On Sunday, Halep will face fourth-seeded Mughurja in the final. Mughurujah beat world number 1 Karolina Pliskova of Czech Republic 6-3, 6-2.
If Halep succeeds in defeating Mugguru, she will become world number one female tennis player. It will also win his first title in Cincinnati.
